Weekend Getaway

Just had to blog a little about the wonderful scrapbooking weekender we just had!  A few of us arrived at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in Hagerstown, MD on Friday at 8:00am.  We finished setting up by 9:45am and went to Cracker Barrel for brunch.  The rest of the ladies arrived throughout the day - there were 11 of us CFF's (Crafty Friends Forever) altogether.  Then on Friday evening we had dinner at Olive Garden.  Saturday, we had dinner at the Fireside Restaurant at the hotel.  Sunday, we had brunch at the Fireside Restaurant and in the evening we ate at Red Lobster.  Monday, we were all treated to Pizza Hut pizzas for lunch by one of the CFF's.  Then, after leaving the hotel at about 7pm, we had a late dinner at Cracker Barrel on the way home.  There was LOTS of laughter, delicious food and scrapbooking throughout the weekend!  I started and finished my daughter's 11th Birthday Luau Party album - 30 pages.  YAY!!!  These weekenders just seem to get better each time, not just because of what I do, but because of the fun and fellowship had by all!  Thank you so much to all who attended and helped to make this an awesome weekend getaway!

Mad About Paper Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin' Dymonz Scrap Shack's Mad About Paper Blog Hop! Our theme for this hop, besides being Mad About Paper, is Sports -- it is March Madness for the Scrap Shack as well as for basketball after all!!. Some of the divas have creations with a sports theme. Some of them have simply created out of their favorite medium - paper! This hop shows our madness for all things paper! The hop starts at Stampin' Dymonz's blog, which can be found by going to It ends with NikkiP's blog, found at Along the way we have Lynetta, Cynta, Jessica,  Christina, and Tammy who have beautiful creations to share as well. Don't miss out! If you got to this blog hop from any place other than the beginning, go back to the beginning and work your way through. There's lots of inspiration to share and these divas have created some magnificent projects! Don't forget -- this is a two-day blog hop! Creations will be posted both Saturday, March 19th and Sunday, March 20th. Stop back by both days in order to see all of the beautiful work -- you too will be Mad About Paper!

DAY   1

DAY   2

I hope you enjoyed my projects and the hop so far! Don't stop hopping until you get to the end -- there could be blog candy along the way that you don't want to miss out on! Any of the divas participating in the hop may offer some, but the biggest thing you'll miss are the great creations and the greater inspiration for your creations. Have fun!

You should have arrived here from Jessica's blog. Christina's blog is the next one on the line up and you can reach her blog by clicking on her blog name. If you have problems with the link, her blog's URL is in parentheses after her name -- just copy/paste it into your address bar.

I won something crafty!

A few weeks ago, I had lots of fun playing an ABC Game on the Fiskateers board.   I knew there would be some winners from this game, but just knew that I wouldn't be one of them.  Well, I was wrong!  I just found out that I won a Fiskars Flower Squeeze Punch!  I'm so excited, first because I never win anything and second because I LOVE Fiskars products!

ABC Scripture Challenge - Easy

As our Hostess, Patter, was about to study for this challenge, she suffered the loss of her dear grandmother.  And as she attests on her blog, it certainly was not an easy time for her and her family, but because she knows Jesus she was able to continue on in the comfort of His love.  As I wrote on my layout and I truly believe:  Life is not easy, but it is so much better with Jesus!

On Saturday, March 5th, I participated in a Virtual Crop hosted by Kathy, one of my dear CFF's (Crafty Friends Forever).  It was my first VC and it was lots of fun!  Kathy showed us how to make three different flowers.  We were supposed to make five flowers after those three and post them by 10pm for a random chance to win a prize.  These are the five I posted.  The largest petals of the flower in the middle are not white, they are clear.  I made it out of a transparency and colored the tips with a Copic Marker.  That was a first for me and won't be the last.  Well, I didn't win the prize, but I still feel like I won because I get to use these flowers that I made on my projects!
